  • Ensures the acquisition of E-rate and VPSA funding to minimize the division’s budgetary costs for WAN, Internet Access, and student testing (ex. network & bandwidth upgrades, SOL testing computers, and device) equipment.

  • Maintains a 1.1 million-dollar yearly budget while keeping abreast of new technology developments and making relevant and cost-effective recommendations for technology equipment, programs, and systems.

  • Maintains a database with a documented inventory of over 2,100 division devices for the evaluation of technology procurement needs.

  • Maintains the Google Admin Console for division deployment of devices and network communications to aid in testing needs for kiosk mode.

  • Maintains and provides daily updates for thirteen division PR social media accounts for community relations via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

  • Maintains division websites in collaboration with Educational Networks.

  • Maintains and provides updates through the School Messenger instant alert system and local tv stations for students, staff, community members for weather and/or closure announcements.

  • Participates as a member or facilitator in meetings, state and local conferences/workshops, and professional development opportunities that involve technology deployments, equipment acquisition, district technology committees, and problem resolution.

  • Provides leadership, evaluation, and day-to-day management for the members of the technology department in the areas of instructional technology support, student information system, networking and infrastructure needs, and student testing/data management.

  • Serves as the leading source of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices in the fields of technology for the division and presents to the division superintendent and school board as called upon.

  • Supervises the procurement and maintenance of the Virginia Department of Education School Security Grant funding for internal/external school and bus cameras, VOIP, existing equipment, and door accessibility systems.

Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT)

  • Conducted quarterly updates for over 1,200 school computers, iPads, and laptops at five school buildings with current software as needed for state-mandated testing within a three-week time frame with the technology team.

  • Created lessons for teacher implementation based upon data from Benchmark Assessments.

  •  Developed and modeled lessons for teachers as needed on target skills for student learning.

  •  Facilitated professional development training for teachers and guidance for students in interpreting new technologies instructional practices.
